FEEDING WASHTENAW COUNTY
Despite a misconception that no one is hungry in Washtenaw County, the rising cost of living in the area has created a high percentage of working people who live on the edge of poverty. No one should have to decide between nutritious food and paying bills such as medicine and rent. Marginalized groups and older adults are disproportionately the ones facing these challenges.
Nourish Nutrition Services, powered by JFS of Washtenaw County, helps bridge the gap for our neighbors facing these tough choices. As Washtenaw County’s preeminent provider of nutrition services, JFS helps all diverse members of the community.

30 YEARS OF
SERVING THE COMMUNITY
Nourish Nutrition Services began as a humble pantry in our CEO’s office to ensure that no one left JFS hungry. 30 years later, it has grown into one of the area's preeminent providers of nutrition services, serving 800 local community members every month.
JFS has spent years learning how to best serve Washtenaw County, responding to community needs and adapting with new partners, new programs and new spaces. With the opening of the new Shalom Kitchen, Nourish Nutrition Services will able to better serve the community than ever before. |
